Mambray Creek

Mambray Creek at the entrance to the Mount Remarkable National Park. The gum tree lined creek here meets with Australia’s National Highway 1 and the Trans-Australian Railway line

A post office was established in the late 1880s and a school later on in the 1930s. In more recent years Mambray Creek had its own petrol station, as a kid I remember dad filling the tank of the Valiant for less than $20! All services have since ceased operation. The 2016 Australian Census stated a population of 20 people
